ALDO Return Policy: Unworn Shoes, Mail Fees and Footwear Warranty

Aldo Returns policy

Aldo Returns policy

Quick answer: ALDO’s US policy generally allows a return or exchange of eligible unworn merchandise within 30 days of purchase, with the original packaging and tags and appropriate proof of purchase. Eligible online orders can be returned online or in a store; merchandise bought in a store must be returned in a store. A standard mail return carries a $5.95 fee, while an in-store return is free. Online exchanges are not available through the routine mail workflow: exchanges are handled in stores. Final-sale and certain hygiene-sensitive items are excluded. The exact payment method and purchase channel also affect how an approved refund is issued.

Try the shoes without turning a fitting test into wear

The main risk when buying shoes online is that the marked size may not provide the expected fit, but walking outside to see whether the soles are comfortable can change the condition of the merchandise. ALDO’s official US return and exchange policy requires eligible goods to be unworn, unsoiled, unwashed and undamaged, with original tags and packaging. Try the pair on a clean indoor surface and keep the original shoebox in reusable condition until you decide. A scuffed sole or creased shoe that shows actual wear may fail the eligibility test regardless of the calendar.

For handbags and accessories, keep labels, protective filling, straps and detachable components together. Inspect the item’s color and hardware before removing hang tags. If a zipper is visibly broken on delivery, photograph it as received and report a possible defect rather than describing the item as unwanted. A customer who wore shoes to a party and later decided the heel was too high has a different problem from someone who discovered a manufacturing defect during a brief indoor fit check.

The 30-day period stated in the US policy runs from purchase, so do not assume a package that arrived late automatically resets every stated deadline to its delivery day. Check any order-specific terms if the shipping timeline makes this uncertain, and contact the seller promptly if a delivery problem consumed a meaningful part of the ordinary period. When buying a gift well in advance, preserve the receipt and verify whether any advertised seasonal exception actually applies before relying on extra time.

Where you bought the item decides where it goes back

ALDO accepts eligible online purchases for return either through the online process or at a US ALDO store, while store purchases must be returned in store. This distinction can prevent a needless postage fee. Before traveling, check store hours and take the item, original packaging and valid receipt or online order confirmation. If you paid with a nonstandard payment arrangement, check the separate restrictions rather than assuming every store can credit the original funding source in the same way.

An ALDO-branded product purchased at a department store or another third-party retailer is not an ALDO direct-sale transaction. The seller that issued the receipt normally sets the voluntary return route for that purchase. Ask the seller about its conditions instead of mailing the product to ALDO’s online warehouse. The fact that the item has an ALDO label does not prove it was purchased through ALDO’s own US website. For comparison with a separate shoe retailer’s 60-day framework, see our DSW return guide; DSW’s timing and fee terms cannot be used to return an ALDO order.

How to mail back an eligible ALDO online order

Use the order number from your confirmation email and the shipping-address ZIP code to initiate the web return. ALDO’s customer-service FAQ says the system will show the order, allow you to choose the relevant item and send a FedEx label with instructions. If the order was shipped to a store, the FAQ directs customers to enter the store’s ZIP code. That detail matters because using your home ZIP code for a store-pickup order can prevent the system from identifying the transaction.

Pack each shoe carefully in its original shoe box, and protect that box inside an outer shipping carton rather than attaching a shipping label directly to a presentation box if the return instructions require the original packaging to be preserved. Include the exact products listed in the authorization. Drop the parcel at the instructed FedEx location or arrange an allowed pickup, then keep the carrier acceptance scan and tracking details. Do not combine two separately authorized orders in one carton without permission; a receiving warehouse must match each returned item to the correct original sale.

The published online return fee is $5.95 per order. It covers restocking and postage for the standard mail process and is deducted from the refund. That is different from saying the return is completely free because the company emailed a prepaid label. ALDO says the original shipping and handling charges are nonrefundable under its standard policy. If avoiding a $5.95 deduction matters, an eligible in-store return can be a more economical option, provided the payment method and order type support the desired in-store refund outcome.

Refunds, split payments and PayPal complications

ALDO generally issues approved returns to the original payment method, subject to the purchase method and channel. Its FAQ states that once a return is processed, a credit-card or PayPal refund usually appears within two to five business days, while a financial institution may take up to ten business days to reflect it. The warehouse must first receive and process the mailed merchandise. Do not begin counting only from the day you printed the label; retain both carrier delivery confirmation and ALDO’s approval email.

If you paid with a combination of gift card and another payment method, ALDO says the refund goes to the gift card first and any remaining balance back to the other original tender. A buyer who wants all of the refund to go to a bank card may therefore be disappointed even when the return itself is accepted. Read the split-tender breakdown on the receipt and keep any gift-card number or confirmation required to access the credited balance.

PayPal also changes the preferred return location. ALDO says PayPal purchases are refundable to PayPal only when returned by mail under the relevant terms. A qualifying item taken to a store may be exchangeable or refunded to another permitted method such as an ALDO gift card or debit card instead. If you specifically need the funds returned to PayPal, verify the current order’s mail-return route before choosing an in-store transaction simply because it avoids postage. Likewise, purchases made through Afterpay or other pay-later services need the provider’s own refund and installment adjustment process; do not send the shoes directly to the payment provider.

How exchanges work when you need a different size

ALDO’s standard online return portal does not offer direct online exchanges. Eligible exchanges are handled in ALDO stores. If you ordered boots in your usual size but find the toe box too narrow, keep them unworn, preserve the tags and shoebox, and check store availability for the size you want. Bring the original online order details and ask the store whether it can exchange the item or whether a refund and fresh purchase would be needed. A different size may no longer be in stock or may carry a different current price.

If you bought the shoes in a physical store, return or exchange them in a store rather than shipping them to the online warehouse. Buying the correct size in a new order before arranging the return can create a temporary double charge and does not guarantee the original pair will be accepted. Check the condition of the pair you want to return before committing to the replacement. A buyer’s preferred payment method can influence whether an eligible store exchange or mail refund is the more useful route.

Final sale, hygiene items and what cannot be returned normally

ALDO identifies final-sale products as excluded from ordinary returns and exchanges. Its US policy also lists certain hygiene-sensitive items, including hosiery, earrings, hair accessories and insoles, among nonreturnable categories. The separate customer-service FAQ mentions socks, shoe laces and shoe-care products in its hygiene restrictions. If you are buying an accessory that could be in a restricted category, check the specific product page and the current applicable terms before removing packaging or assuming its eligibility from the rules for shoes.

A sale price is not automatically the same as an explicit Final Sale designation. The distinction should be established from the product page, receipt or checkout notice. Conversely, a product clearly sold as final sale is not guaranteed returnable just because the customer acts within 30 days. If the item was supplied incorrectly or arrived defective, report the actual order problem; do not pretend it was a normal change-of-mind purchase. Such a complaint may require review of evidence and a separate resolution process.

Defective footwear and the six-month support route

ALDO’s US FAQ says customers with defective or faulty footwear within six months of purchase may seek review under its footwear warranty policy. It describes manufacturing and material problems that occur despite normal use, rather than promising a refund for ordinary wear, misuse or unauthorized repairs. Contact customer service, provide proof of purchase, describe the defect and be prepared to supply photos. The support team decides which next steps apply. A suspected sole-separation defect is not automatically the same as a normal return of shoes that are merely uncomfortable.

Check whether your issue is a broken strap, a stitching failure, a scuffed sole from ordinary use or damage from accidental exposure to water. Photograph the footwear and its purchase record and avoid making unauthorized repairs before support reviews the concern. A repair attempt may change the evidence of the original defect and make it harder to identify the appropriate remedy. The six-month review route is not a blanket six-month satisfaction trial for any worn pair; the nature of the problem matters.

Holiday gifts and three practical return situations

The ordinary published ALDO US rule is a 30-day purchase-based period, and the policy pages reviewed here do not establish a permanent annual holiday extension for every transaction. Seasonal terms may be offered separately, so save them if they apply. For a gifted pair, keep the gift receipt and check the original payment type. An exchange for size may be the most straightforward solution, but the recipient should not be promised a cash refund to an unrelated card merely because the gift remains unworn.

An online order was paid with PayPal, and you want the PayPal balance restored

Check the mail-return process rather than automatically taking the item to the nearest ALDO store. The brand says PayPal refunds go back to PayPal through the mail route under its policy. Compare the $5.95 fee with any available in-store exchange or alternative refund form before selecting an irreversible method.

The shoes are unused, but the original box was thrown away

ALDO lists original packaging as a return condition. Locate the order details, photograph the condition and ask support whether an exception is available before mailing or taking the shoes to a store. Do not assume an ordinary cardboard replacement makes the pair eligible under the published policy.

The bag arrived with a broken zipper, and it was marked Final Sale

Document the condition on arrival and contact the original seller about the apparent defect instead of silently submitting a change-of-mind return in a nonreturnable category. Explain when the fault was first noticed and provide the purchase record and photos. The regular Final Sale exclusion and a product-problem review are different issues.

ALDO return questions answered

Can I exchange online for another size?

The standard online portal processes returns, not direct online exchanges. Eligible exchanges are handled at stores, subject to item and payment-method rules and stock availability.

Does an ALDO store charge the same fee as the mail option?

No. The published US policy describes in-store returns as free and standard mail returns as carrying a $5.95 fee.

Can I return a store purchase by FedEx?

Store purchases must be returned in a store under the standard policy. The online warehouse route is for eligible online orders.

Will a six-month footwear warranty refund shoes that simply no longer fit?

No such general promise is made. The separate footwear warranty review concerns potentially qualifying manufacturing or material defects; ordinary change-of-mind returns use the shorter standard return terms.
